Meet Jasmine…Summer Intern

image2Hello all! My name is Jasmine Conley, I am interning with The Twiggs Group this summer.

I was born and raised in Fayetteville, AR along with my six younger brothers who range from 18 all the way to 1. I love to spend time with them when I am home, and support them at their many different sporting events.

I am currently a junior at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and majoring in Public Relations with a minor in marketing. I am a member of the school’s PRSSA chapter and the chairwomen for our publicity team, as well as the Social Media Correspondent.

I started college as a Physical Therapy major, but quickly realized that was not the field I needed to be in. While I do enjoy athletic training and learning the science behind the human body, science was not my strongest field.

When it came time to pick a new major, I knew that I loved to write and use my creativity to help people come up with solutions. I wasn’t sure if there was a major that fit these interests, but once I found out that my school offered Public Relations, I knew that’s where I belonged.

Switching my major to PR was one of the best decisions I’ve made in college, and I love that I am able to learn something new about the field every day.

After I went on my first agency tour with PRSSA I realized how important internships were, and I began to research and apply to many different agencies and companies in Central Arkansas as well as Northwest Arkansas.

I chose to work with The Twiggs Group, because I felt I would be able to receive more hands on experience with clients and other tasks than I would at a big agency.

To me, interning is a chance to take all that you’ve learned in school and actually apply it to the real world and see what works best for you, and what doesn’t. This is my first internship, and I am so excited to apply what I have learned thus far, as well as learn new things that will help me in my future classes, and business endeavors.

Throughout this summer I will be posting about different topics as well as various social media tips. One of my main focuses will be Snapchat and how to keep up with all of their updates, and how to use it to its fullest potential.

Talk soon!

AT.com Blog graphicHappy Friday the 13th, folks! I hope today brings you lots of good fortune.

No one tells you the crazy town that is preparing for your child’s high school graduation…maybe the universe is keeping me busy on purpose.  Less tears that way!

I had a great week of client meetings and I spoke on a panel about social media…one of my favorite subjects.

Here’s what I found just for you…

☞ Working from home is great…but challenging.

☞ I just refreshed my website…glad to not have one of these issues.

☞ This article got me fired up about the inequality in women’s sports.

☞ Want to make things pretty but you are not a graphic designer…here’s a few apps for that.

The hubs got me a Fitbit Alta for Mother’s Day and I am LOVING it.  I had the Fitbit One but I was tired of remembering to strap it on my bra strap! My goal is 50,000 steps a week and so far this week, I’m already at 52,000…there’s just something about tracking those steps that gets me moving.

Have a great weekend, friends!

AT.com Blog graphicHappy Friday, friends! Today is the last day of high school for my son…to say I’m a little emotional would be an understatement!

What an amazing milestone for him…I remember being a high school senior, I was ready to tackle the world.  Little did I know, the world would tackle me right back.  I survived it with flying colors and he will too…this mama is just not ready to let go.

So, today is not particularly a ‘favorite’ for me but I did find a few good things to share.

☞ I’m a sucker for these Habits for Happiness lists but this is a good one.

☞ Need to relax? There’s an app for that.

☞ I am loving Snapchat…these features would make me love it more.

☞ I’m here to tell you, miracles do happen. Please take a moment to read about Baby Eden.

My son signed his letter of intent this week to play basketball for Lyon College…it was a great day! Go Scots!
