Friendsgiving is whatever you make it; as long as you have your pals and you’re celebrating one another, you’re doing it right.
It’s that time of year again…Friendsgiving!
It’s that time of year again! Time to reflect on what and who we are grateful for. At this point, I think Friendsgiving has become it’s own holiday, and I’m not mad at it. Look, we all love Thanksgiving, but Friendsgiving allows us to have an informal approach to the holidays. There’s a little more grace and a little more flexibility in Friendsgiving. Use paper plates, eat pizza, play games, skip the cranberry sauce (ah, we’re getting crazy!). 🤷
But did you know you can do other things besides a meal at Friendsgiving? Because let’s face it: Friendsgiving is whatever you make it; as long as you have your pals and you’re celebrating one another, you’re doing it right. Here are some different ways you can celebrate this year.
Play games, any games!
That’s right, y’all! Some good old fashioned games can really get the celebration going, and it allows for a fun, flexible evening. Whether it’s a group game, a board game, or a card game, you are guaranteed a great night (unless you lose, of course 😉). Here are some great examples:
Murder Mystery Dinner Party
If your group is pretty creative and up for the challenge, a murder mystery dinner party would be fantastic. Don your hats and accessories, lay out all the food, and get to guessing! There is a 1920’s murder mystery kit from Amazon that would make the event that much more enjoyable!
Loaded Questions
Loaded Questions shows how well you know your friends. Everybody in the group has to write down a response to a certain question of your choosing, and you have to guess who wrote what response. This may sound easy, but you get some crazy responses that leave you reeling!
Get out of the house
Switch it up this year and get out of the house. You can volunteer somewhere together, visit a museum, see a movie, or you can do what I do…meet for happy hour! Every year, I meet my loved ones at Maxine’s for happy hour. It’s perfect because we get to relax and enjoy each other’s company before the rush of the holidays. Sometimes (and I mean just sometimes), it’s nice to get out of the house. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving (and Friendsgiving)! Let me know what you do for Friendsgiving.
